A celebration of life for Marion Franklin Klingenberg will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wesley Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marion was born June 30, 1917 to Martin and Freda (Jones) Klingenberg in Ames, OK the oldest of 13 children and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2016 at his home in Enid.
He attended country schools and graduated from Enid High in 1934. He served as a radio operator in the United States Army Air Force. Marion married Florence Orr September 3, 1939. They owned and operated an appliance and electrical business, Klingenberg & Co. on East Broadway from 1946 to 1973. He also built commercial property, owned Klingenberg Rentals and farmed his parents land.
Marion married Edna Faye Haycraft April 14, 1999 in Eureka Springs, AK, after which the couple made their home in Enid. He was a well-known business and civic leader. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church where he was very active as long-time Sunday school teacher. Marion is survived by his wife, Edna of the home. sons, Martin, Ron and Kenneth Klingenberg; Ben, Mitr and Nich Pathevanich; Terry, Steve and Mark Maness; brothers, Leo, Charles and Yancey Klingenberg; sister, Pat Claypool and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife Florence; and several brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Enid SPCA or wounded worrier project with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
