There will be a private family memorial service for Margaret Marie Lambke in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Jarett Banks will officiate. A guest book is available to sign at the funeral home through Monday.
Margaret Marie Lambke (MarMar) passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, April 4, 2017. She was born September 23, 1929 in Anthony, Kansas to Frank and Nellie (Brett) Engel of Manchester, Oklahoma. She grew up in Manchester where she met her future husband, Jim Lambke, in 5th grade. She was an outstanding basketball player and loved the outdoors and friends. She graduated from Manchester High School with the class of 1947 and entered Southwestern University, where she obtained her Associates degree.
On June 1, 1948 she married Jim, her high school sweetheart, and the love of her life, for 68 years. They lived in Alva, Cherokee and Ponca City, before making Enid,Okla their home, of 56 years. She was an active member of Central Christian Church, chapter president of P.E.O. and held many offices in Garden Club and Chi Beta. She enjoyed years of serving Meals on Wheels and other community organizations. She was an avid tennis player and played competitively until 80 years old. Margaret loved her friends and enjoyed bridge, golf, gardening and collecting bunnies.
She was the heart of her family and considered being a mother the most important job In the world. She is survived by her husband Jim Lambke, daughter, Debbie Groves (late husband Chuck), of Edmond, OK, granddaughters, Coby Wells(Luke)of North Logan, UT, and Blake Sadler(Josh) of Dallas, Tx and great-grandchildren, Walker Wells, Kinsley Wells of North Logan, UT and Shayne Sadler, Addie Sadler and Preston Charles Sadler of Dallas, TX; daughter, Coni Craig(Mike) of Dallas, TX, granddaughter, Chandler Baker(Rob) of Austin, TX and great-granddaughter, Elliott Marie Baker of Austin, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
