Memorial services for Margaret Emaline Nixon will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Weston officiating.
Margaret was born on January 22, 1921 in Lahoma, Oklahoma to Henry and Ethel Freeberg Kuhnemund and died October 8, 2016 in Enid.
She grew up in Lahoma and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1938. Margaret received her associate’s degree from Phillips University. On December 25, 1941, she married Don Nixon in Enid. They lived in Enid and later Arizona, where Margaret received her Master Degree in Education in 1955 from Arizona State. She taught in Oklahoma, Arizona and California. They retired to Enid in 1980, and owned the stork nest. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of United Church of Lahoma.
She was preceded in death by her son, David and sister, Annabelle Thieme.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Don; children, Beverly Nixon of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Danny Nixon and wife, Jan of Lahoma; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
