The services celebrating and honoring the life of Marcella A. (Ake) Hyde, 75, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 2, 2023, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Steve Williams officiating, burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Marcella A. Ake Hyde was born April 4, 1948, to Albert and Violet Fern Ake in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life April 28, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid, attending Waller Junior High School and graduating from Enid High School. She married Bill Wayne Hyde April 2, 1962, and from this union came two children, Donald and Christy. The family lived in Houston, Texas where she worked for Foley’s for sixteen years. She lived in Houston for thirty-five years until moving to Enid in 2000 where she worked at Star-Tek. She enjoyed shopping at Hobby Lobby and decorating and absolutely loved her family and her two dogs.
She is survived by her daughter Christy Kerr and husband Leonard, of Ringwood, six grandchildren, William Hyde, Elizabeth Hyde, Alex Hyde, Jacob Kerr, Skylar Kerr, and April Lessard; daughter in law Carol Hyde; one brother Michael Ake; and one sister, Marsha Flickenjer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hyde and son, Donald Hyde.
