Maggie Bartlett, age 92, joined God’s saints on October 29, 2019. She was a resident of Enid since 2000. Previously, she lived in Woodward and Kingfisher. Maggie was married to Burl Bartlett for 65 years, and he preceded her in death in 2012. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Brookdale, Enid.

Maggie’s zest for life, her commitment to serving others, her appreciation for all of God’s creation, and her love for family and friends were always present. She was a retired teacher and a devoted community volunteer. Maggie was a long-time member of Central Christian Church and had, recently, been attending Emmanuel Church in Enid. Her volunteer work included the gift shop at St Mary’s Hospital and Horn of Plenty. Maggie also participated in and volunteered with The Walk to Emmaus.

Maggie loved to travel, enjoyed gardening and bird watching, was an avid reader and lover of the arts, and was a life-long learner and teacher. Her passion for life and her loyalty to family and friends brought joy and inspiration to so many.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Burl, her daughter, Lorrie Harper, her sister, Mary Jo McClain, and her parents, Imo and Vero Denham. She is survived by her daughter, Janie Rivers and husband, Richard, of Enid; her daughter, Ann Tubbs and husband, Larry of Denton, TX; and her son-in-law, Lloyd Harper, of Ft. Worth, TX. Maggie is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Paul Tubbs and wife, Lindsey, of Lubbock, TX; Briley Rivers and wife Lisa, of Ottawa, KS; Emily Cooper and husband, Justin, of Enid; Vince Farris and wife Gaila, of Ft. Worth, TX and Jermaine Wade and wife Joni, of Frisco, TX. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Jake Tubbs of Lubbock, TX; Cody and Lucas Rivers of Ottawa, KS; Samuel, Elijah, and Solomon Cooper of Enid; Bryce and Braydyn Farris of Ft. Worth, TX; and Kylan and Tristan Wade of Frisco, TX.

A Celebration of Life for Maggie will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in the Emmanuel Church Chapel with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
