Louis Edward Chitwood was born to Bob and Dorothy Chitwood of Purcell, Oklahoma on April 8, 1954. He attended Lahoma High School and later entered the oil field work force. He spent his life in Enid, Oklahoma surrounded by loyal friends and family.
Louis was skilled in many hobbies, always building, writing, drawing, cooking, or working in his small garden. He also loved to play guitar, fish, spend time with his family and friends, and was a collector of all things, especially coins.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, mother and stepfather Jess, his sisters Deborah Burgin and Peggy Morgan, son-in-law Jerome Joyner, and grand-daughter Tierra Cooper. He is survived by his daughters, Brandi Joyner of OKC and Jessica Watts and husband Jeff Watts of Stillwater, grandchildren Cody Willingham and wife Devin Willingham, Tayari Cooper, and Tia Cooper of OKC, Kyle Gould of OKC, Carson Hentges and Keagan Watts of Stillwater, and Lucas Watts of Piedmont. Louis also has several great-grandchildren.
The family held a live memorial for Louis on August 11, 2024, so that his loyal friend and family could celebrate his life and share their love for him with him.
The family wishes to extend their upmost appreciation for Kim Holland, Danny Conway, Judy Chitwood, and his many friends of Enid, Oklahoma. The family also wishes to express their gratitude for Elara Hospice Care of Enid, OK for the humanity and devotion they showed him and the family during their time spent with Louis.
