The funeral service for Louis Reinhart will be 11:00AM Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Rev, Tom Stanley will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.

“Louie” passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona on March 8, 2019 just short of his 94th birthday. He lived an amazing life devoted to family, friends, and his country.

Louis Bernard Stejskal was born on March 18, 1925 in Fairmont, Oklahoma to Lucille Chuda Stejskal and Peter Stejskal. He attended grade school in Covington and later moved to Enid where he then attended Longfellow Jr. High and Enid High School. He was baptized at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where he served as an altar boy. His mother later remarried George Reinhart with Louie changing his last name to Reinhart. In March of 1943, he was drafted from high school into the United States Air Force. He completed basic training at Buckley Field in Aurora, Colorado, then underwent further training at Lowry Field in Denver. He subsequently enrolled in Gunnery Schools in Kingman, Arizona and Sioux City, Iowa before being deployed to Glatton, England as a member of the 748th Squadron of the 457th Bomb Group in World War II. Assigned to the lead crew of the B-17 Flying Fortress, he flew 30 missions over Germany and Poland serving as an aerial gunner. He finished his military career at Vance Air Force Base in 1945. He later attended Spartan School of Aeronautics where he received his aircraft license and briefly worked for American Airlines before returning to Vance in 1949. Louie married Geraldine (Jerry) Clark on March 2, 1951. They had one child, Steve in 1953. He was extremely active in the American Legion and served as commander for Argonne Post #4 from 1960-1961. He managed the American Legion Baseball Team from 1959-1969. Louie accompanied the team to Orangeburg, South Carolina in 1966 for the National Championship, finishing 3rd in the nation. He remained at Vance for the next 46 years working in Aircraft Maintenance, Quality Control, and Egress. He retired in 1995. Louie became a member of Central Christian Church in 1978. Following the death of his wife, Jerry, he moved to Phoenix to be near family, where he resided in assisted living until his death. He was a sports enthusiast and played a role in the many activities of his nieces, nephews and their children. He will be remembered as the uncle who could fix anything, and as being an influence in the young lives of many of his family members. He was an avid fisherman and famous for his homemade stink bait that no catfish could resist. Louie was proceeded in death, by his parents, his siblings, Hermine Stejskal Pope, Joseph Reinhart, William Reinhart, and his wife, Jerry. He is survived by his son, Steve (Betsy) of Phoenix, his granddaughter, Maddie of Phoenix, his brother in law, Dan Clark (Ann) of Muskogee, as well as many nieces and nephews.
