ENID, OK - Have you ever seen something in the sky that you couldn't easily explain? If so, you've seen a UFO. An unidentified flying object is an object observed in the sky that is not readily identified.
-
One local resident experienced this phenomenon on Friday, November 9, 2018. James Marquardt contacted us through Facebook on Friday. He had just seen something in the sky that he couldn't explain and had luckily gotten several photographs of the objects.
-
After viewing the photos we had no explanation as to what the objects might have been. Marquardt explained that two objects appeared out of nowhere and disappeared after being visible for about two minutes. Marquardt said "Straight up, then boom, gone from way out in the Western sky." Marquardt said the objects made no sound.
-
Marquardt lives in Enid and was sitting in his suburban when all of a sudden he saw an unusual object crossing the sky. Not knowing what it was he followed the object with his phone and snapped several pictures before it disappeared.
-
He was getting ready to leave when he spotted another object. This time he said, there was some kind of glow to the stream behind the object. He took more pictures and described the second one as being even further away. He got out of his vehicle and tried to follow it with his phone but it also disappeared like it had never been there.
-
Marquardt said, "Whatever they were, they weren't from Vance Air Force Base." He described them as flying but with no sound. "The weird part about it," Marquardt stated, "is that they came from nowhere, I mean I know I wasn't hallucinating."
-
Below are a few of the photo taken by Marquardt . He described them as, "The freakiest thing I've ever seen."

At Enid Buzz, we weren't sure what to do with the unusual photos so they were saved and we got busy with other events going on in Enid. This morning while perusing for news stories I ran across a report that the Irish Aviation Authority is investigating after an unidentified flying object was sighted by pilots flying over Ireland.
-
I read the story just out of curiosity and then a light went off when the stated date of the sighting was posted as being Friday, November 9, the same day Marquardt had seen the objects over Enid. The description of the incident is very similar to what was seen in Enid. Other pilots also reported seeing strange objects in the sky moving at incredibly fast speeds.
-
Although the times of the two incidents do not correspond with each other, they were both on the same day. In some news articles about the objects, it is speculated that they were meteors. There could have been a higher than average number of meteors entering earth's atmosphere that day.
-
A spokesman for the Irish Aviation Authority told the Irish Times it was investigating the incident and would file a report. Here is a link to that article.
-
At Enid Buzz we always love a mystery and the unknown. We're not sure if the two incidents are related or were the sames objects. If you saw a wierd object in the sky on Friday, November 9 let us know at buzz@enidbuzz.com.
