ENID, OK - Main Street Enid is hosting a local poetry contest! In addition to the many murals gracing the buildings of our fair city recently, Main Street Enid is seeking local poets for a downtown Enid mural. The poem should be no longer than 10 to 15 lines including the title and author’s name and will be painted on a mural along with original art from some of Enid’s finest artistic talent.

There will be a $150 cash prize and the notoriety of the poet’s name on the mural.

All age groups are welcome. The poem must be about Enid or Northwest Oklahoma and the poet must have ties to Enid and surrounding communities of Northwest Oklahoma.

By submitting your poem, you confirm that this is your own original poem, and if your poem is chosen, you agree to allow your poem to be published in the mural design contest, as the mural will be inspired by the winning poem, then painted on a wall in downtown Enid. Murals are photographed and posted on social media often, which wonderfully promotes our community. Personal, family, and professional photos are also often taken in front of murals. You retain the copyright of your poem, but agree to allow photos of your poem to be taken, posted and used for personal and promotional purposes other than merchandise for sale.
