ENID, OK - Katy Ely of Enid's own Pearl Parlor is entering the 2019 National Association of Hairdresser Awards. NAHA is the most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America. Produced by the Professional Beauty Association, the NAHA competition concludes with a star-studded celebration honoring beauty's most talented artists. Katy and her team have been preparing for months for this, and after partnering with Dawn Muncy, they have created some amazing styles that they will be entering into the competition. Below is the first sneak peek of the styles!

Below are few words from Katy on how the process of entering the competition works:

"This has always been a dream of mine to enter NAHA! I have been a hair stylist for 10 years. During that time I have gone to numerous hair shows and have worked with some amazing stylists including, Guy Tang and Sam Villa, and Nick Stinson. Hair has always been my passion. I feel very blessed that I was able to put together such an amazing team to help me create these looks. I colored and cut all of the models. Sara Reed and I styled the hair at the Pearl Parlor where we work. Raegan Fanning did the makeup and body paint. She is a free lance makeup artist. Raegan and Sara specialize in formal styling and they have done several weddings together. Dawn Muncy at Muncy Photography took all the pictures. She made everything come together with her lighting and placement."

About Katy:

"I am a master colorist and love working with all colors. My goal is to keep growing and continue to go to hair shows. I will be going to Vegas in September to study with Kevin Murphy. Later this year Sara and myself will be going to Atlanta to take a cut and color collaboration with George Alderette who is the ambassador for Keune. My ultimate goal is to go to Paris next year to study at the Kevin Murphy Academy. I can’t thank Enid’s support enough or Jada Cecil for all the support. Working in a salon where someone believes in you as much as you believe in yourself is very rewarding. Pearl Parlor takes NAHA 2019!"
