OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – On Saturday, April 15th, 2-4 p.m. join us for an afternoon of sketching using a live model. Artists Sara and Shane Scribner will share figure drawing techniques and talk about how to enhance observational skills. Guests are encouraged to bring their own materials, i.e. a sketch book, pen and pencils; dry materials only please. This opportunity offers great practice for drawing the human figure.

Sara and Shane Scribner, met in California while studying at the Academy of Art University. Each has a unique style; Shane’s abstractions bring out a fluidity in the human form, while Sara’s whimsical narrative allows the viewer to weave a story around the sitter. Sara’s portraits are dramatic, evocative and nuanced, while honoring classical figurative painting. Her females tempt us between fantasy and the everyday. Shane’s ethereal paintings of women evoke a powerfully dreamlike impression.

The Scribner’s exhibition, Reverie!, is showing at The Elms, Friday, April 7th, through Sunday, April 30th.
