The services celebrating and honoring the life of Linda Wiist, 83, of Hillsdale, will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday December 17, 2021, in the Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ron Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsdale Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook page. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Linda was born June 9, 1938, to Elmer Moody and Exie Clara (Couch) Webster in Bristow, Oklahoma and passed from this life December 13, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Bristow, Oklahoma and Petersburg, Texas, graduating from Petersburg High School, Petersburg, Texas, with the class of 1956. After graduating Business College, she began working at the First State Bank in Petersburg, Texas, and then as a secretary for various companies and a Bookkeeper at Amarillo Gear, Company, Amarillo, Texas. She was then a secretary for Livestock Co. and later in retail sales. She married Bobby Wiist in 1972. She enjoyed painting with oil pastels, sewing, and reading.
She is survived by three sons, David Thorpe and wife Gayla, of Austin, Texas, Glen Thorpe and wife Normarie, of Hillsdale, Oklahoma, and Richard Thorpe and wife Gina of Schertz, Texas; one stepdaughter Beth Penland of Stillwater, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one brother Ronnie Webster and wife Sandi of Lubbock, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Wiist, one brother Kenneth Webster, and daughter-in-law Cari Thorpe.
