ENID, OK — The Opening Night for The One and the inaugural tree lighting ceremony for Christ Tree, is set for Friday, November 26, 2021, located at 150 W. Park Avenue in downtown Enid, Oklahoma.
The Grand Lighting Marshal, along with The One executive committee and city and community leaders, will switch on 20,000 multi-colored LED lights on the 140-foot tall Shasta fir tree dressed in 10,000 ornaments. The free, family-friendly event and festivities will kick off at 5 p.m.

Our inaugural Grand Lighting Marshal for 2021 is Dr. Lyntel Murphy, Principal of Eisenhower Elementary School. Dr. Murphy served 17 yrs. in the United States Air Force prior to dedicating the last 26 yrs. to public education. Dr. Murphy holds an AS/BS in Aeronautics, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Education from Capella University. “Dr. Murphy is an outstanding educator and administrator. This is such a great honor for Dr. Murphy, and honor for Enid Public Schools, for her to be the Grand Lighting Marshal for this spectacular event,” said Superintendent of Enid Public Schools, Dr. Darrel Floyd. Dr. Murphy and her husband, Craig, have been married 40 years, and they have two children and two granddaughters. “Dr. Murphy was selected as the inaugural Grand Lighting Marshal because her life epitomizes a love of Christ and dedication to the service of others.” Kyle Williams said.
Kids and families will delight at the opportunity to enjoy live Christmas music, food trucks, Holidays on Ice-ice skating and more. All are welcome, and the events are free. Here are a few tips from organizers:

About The One
The event, known as, The One, will be hosted in Downtown Enid and will be a 42-day event celebrating the Christmas Holiday with concerts, plays, and events to bring in the season. The One will be a memorable experience for all ages. The event will showcase its centerpiece, Christ Tree, the world’s tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree for 2021. The One will be a reminder that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas, and we hope to jumpstart a national effort in bringing faith and hope back to the world at a time it’s needed most.
