Leroy George Heckman

November 10, 1933 - May 8, 2021

Leroy George Heckman was born November 10, 1933 in Moore Township, PA to Herald Heckman and Verna Flyte Heckman of Point Phillips area, PA. He passed from this life on May 8, 2021 at Greenbrier of Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.

Leroy grew up in the Bath PA area. He left school early and enlisted in the Air Force. He completed his basic training in Samson, NY. He remained in the air force for 10 years, enlisting in 1952 and discharging in 1962. He met Violet Grim while stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. They married in 1953. Together, they had five daughters. He and Violet lived their life together traveling with the Air Force, then settling down in Enid, Oklahoma. They both owned and operated a restaurant for a period of time in Nazareth PA after leaving the military. He also worked in foundries in PA and in Oklahoma. He and Violet worked long hard hours at providing for their family. They also enjoyed listening to Oral Roberts preach the word of God and attended services when they could. Back in the day when their children were young, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. They were married 28 years.

In 1982, Leroy remarried Jeanine Tucker. He and Jeanine were employed at Central Machine and Tool, Enid Ok until retirement. Leroy then did work around the home that he and Jeanine shared. After retirement, Leroy drove a truck for Loomis where he remained employed for several years. He and Jeanine traveled to Pennsylvania often to be with family in that area. Together, they lived in the Enid area the remainder of their lives.

Leroy is survived by his five biological daughters: Donna Morris of Enid; Debra Burner and Buddy Burner of Cement, Oklahoma; Carol Daniel of Illinois; Sherry Thain of McAlester, OK; and Barbara Cowles of Enid, Ok; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by three step- children: Mark Tucker and his wife Laura of Arkansas; Sissy Black and husband Kyle of Enid, OK; and Mike Tucker of Enid, Ok, in addition to several grandchildren.

Leroy is also survived by his brother Sherwood Heckman and sister Dorothy Eberts, both of Bath, PA; a half sister Donna Jean Walbert of the Spring Hill, Florida area, and Lynn Heckman of Pennsylvania, along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Emmanuel Enid.
