A Celebration of Life service for Leota Ann Mott age 81 of Enid will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Alan Seibel officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Leota was born May 24, 1942 in Alva, OK to Melvin and Lucille (Blevins) Rich and passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Leota was raised in Aline where she graduated from Aline High School. She married Ron Mott on March 14, 1959 in Fairview. Leota moved to Cherokee where she worked as a telephone operator. They moved Kingfisher until 1975 and moved back to Cherokee where she worked for Alfalfa County Treasurer’s Office until 1982. They moved to Enid and she worked for Garfield County Treasurer’s office retiring in 2000. Leota was an active member of Oakwood Christian Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed watching and attending the Oklahoma State Cowboys for over 25 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, cooking, crocheting, and being outside on her front porch.
Leota is survived by her husband Ron of the home, daughter Cindy Leslie and husband Monte of Stillwater, granddaughter Melonie Tanksley and husband Joey, grandson Kyle Leslie and wife Aubrie, great grandchildren; Mya and Addison Tanksley, Ethan, Zachary, Cole, and Rhett Leslie, 3 sisters; Sue and John Thomas, Vera and Bill Gardner, and Nita and John Rennie, 2 brothers; Jack and Donna Rich and Richard Rich and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Darren, and brother J. D. Rich.
Memorials may be made to Oakwood Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
