ENID, OK - It will be a historic day for Enid as it becomes a Purple Heart City! Come to the Legacy Award Ceremony and see a WWII veteran receive the prestigious Order of the French Legion of Honor. Three WWII veterans will be honored and three Vietnam Veterans will be honored along with a modern day warrior. There will be a free gift bag for all veterans attending.

The free event will take place on Monday, November 11 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Stride Bank Event Center. It is hosted by Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park, Inc. Everything is also family friendly so bring the kids.

The FREE USO Tribute Tour will have impersonators Bob Hope, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and the Haynes Sisters. Entertainment will also include Adams Elementary School, EHS Jazz Choir and Orchestra, Mixed Company 40's Vintage Singers, Bringing it Back Band and special appearance by Santa Claus.

Attendees are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys for ages 4-12 and gift cards to places like Walmart, Game Stop, or clothing stores. Non-perishable food is great along with frozen turkeys or hams. They'll have a table for you to place your toys and gift cards that will benefit the Wounded Veterans of Oklahoma.
