The funeral service for Larry James Franklin Hendricks, Sr. will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at Willow Road Christian Church with Pastor Carrel Still officiating. Masonic graveside ceremony follows in Good Hope Cemetery, South of Helena, OK. A visitation with family will be 1 to 3p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home.
Larry was born April 10, 1932 on a farm in Alfalfa County to James and Lavlett (Packard) Hendricks and passed away November 8, 2016 in Enid.
He excelled at sports as a student athlete and graduated from Perry, OK in 1950. He received a Bachelor’s degree from NWOSU and a Master’s in Education from Wichita State, spending 26 years as a teacher, including in Alaska where he and his children homesteaded.
Larry was proud to be a Korean War veteran where he flew for the Navy and a Life Time Member of the NRA.
Larry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law (care givers), Chuck and Tia Hendricks of the home; son, Larry Jr. of Enid; daughter, Saundra of North Carolina; son Scott of Missouri; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and grandson, Nathaniel Hendricks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willow Road Christion Church or The Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma with the Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
