Funeral services for Laila Bateman will be Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Anderson-Burris Chapel with Dr. Bob Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will be Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
Laila was born on August 29, 1937 in Enid to Clarence and Anna Simmering Dierksen and died on September 19, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
Laila grew up in Drummond and graduated from Drummond High School in 1955. She then graduated from Oklahoma A & M. Laila worked for many years for Southwest Bell Telephone Company before her retirement. She married Ronald Bateman and they had one son, Mark.
Laila was preceded in death by her parents and son, Mark.
She is survived by her brother, Ruey Dierksen; nephew and wife, Dustin and Sabrina Dierksen; great nephew and niece, Cole and Presley Dierksen; several close friends.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Hillsdale Bible Church or Enid SPCA.
