ENID, OK - The Garfield County Master Gardeners are “keyed up” about gardening season and have scheduled their annual spring gardening workshop for Saturday, April 1, at Autry Technology Center, 1201 West Willow, Enid.

The workshop, “Keys to Great Gardening,” will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m. Workshop sessions will begin at 8:30 and will last until noon. Master Gardener Jim Brown will present the opening session sharing helpful information on vegetable gardening.

In the second session, John Lamle, Production Manager at Johnston Seed Company in Enid, will offer expert guidance on choosing on key plants for our area to attract pollinators. Following this session, Master Gardener Mike Gwinnup will explain the concept of keyhole gardening and provide details on construction.

A boutique will be set up at the workshop with plants and items for the garden available for sale. The cost of the workshop is $35 per person with cash, checks or credit cards accepted. The cost will include refreshments and a packet of information and Oklahoma State University Horticulture Fact Sheets for each of the sessions. The proceeds with go toward the expansion of the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden at 316 E. Oxford.
