ENID, Okla. - When Enid Event Center and Convention Hall launched in 2012 it needed someone bright and motivated to get it off the ground. Many residents were still fuming about the controversy surrounding the funding of the the venue. Some even vowed to never attend an event in the building.

EECCH needed a leader that could book the acts that would change people's minds. That person came in the form of Keller Taylor. Taylor, an Irmo, SC native, moved to Enid in February, 2012 and immediately began booking events and putting together his staff. He oversaw the transition from the Cherokee Strip Conference Center to the under-construction Enid Event Center and Enid Convention Hall.

Since his arrival, EECCH has presented Reba, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Styx, Goo Goo Dolls and many more. They've had bull riding, the circus, Harlem Globetrotters and many more non-musical acts. They also hosted the 2016 Oklahoma Speakers Ball which was held outside of OKC and Tulsa for the very first time.

Taylor has been the major force in getting Enid Event Center to where it is today. He came from the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas and has recently been promoted by Spectra Venue Management to be general manager at Budweiser Event Center in northern Colorado.

Taylor will not only be missed because of his leadership at EECCH but also because of his relationship with the community. He has been involved with the Enid AM Ambucs, Enid Rotary Club, Main Street Enid and Enid Young Professionals. He was nominated in 2012 as an Enid Young Professionals 10 Under 40, which recognizes Enid’s outstanding young business leaders.

Enid Event Center is hosting a going away party in Convention Hall between 4-6pm on Tuesday, April 12. Mayor Shewey has proclaimed Wednesday, April 13 Keller Taylor Day in Enid, Oklahoma. Taylor will officially be leaving EECCH on April 15.
