Kathleen spent her first few weeks in Soldier, Kansas, with her mom and grandparents awaiting the return of her dad from overseas duty in the Navy. Her next home was with her father and mother in Corpus Christi, Texas, where her dad was stationed. During Navy days, she and her mom spent time in Soldier, Kansas, with her grandparents, Leon and Effie Tolin, Aunt and Uncle, Gaylord and Ester Tribble, and cousins Bonnie and Burton Tribble.
-
After Navy days were over, she and her family lived first in the Big Springs/Waco, Texas area, where her dad became affiliated with the Sonotone Hearing Aid Company. Their next move was to Greeley, Colorado, where she began her first years of school and enjoyed scouting and family activities from their little home there. Long Beach, California, was where they located next, again with Sonotone Company. The final move for the family was Enid, Oklahoma, this move being made both for the company and so that the family could be closer to her aging grandparents in Kansas.
-
Kathleen graduated from Enid High School in 1963 and later from Blackwell General Hospital’s Practical Nursing School. She earned her LPN Certificate in 1965 and worked for several years at Bass hospital. After leaving the nursing profession she enjoyed providing child care for special friends Andy and Diane Fosmire and their children, and always appreciated their care and attention when she had special needs. She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal church in Enid.

Kathleen spent many years helping provide loving care for her father in his las illness and again provided total care for her aging mother until she passed away at the age of 93. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Leon and Effie Tolin.
