Julie was born May 21, 1957 in Nebraska to D'Ette and William McGarry. Shortly after that, the family moved to Oklahoma City where Julie grew up. She attended Catholic schools and graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 1975. She attended Oklahoma State University and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Julie graduated in 1979 and returned to Oklahoma City where she married Kevin Kanaly. During that time, she became active in home building and real estate with her husband and had two children, Kara and Steve. Kevin passed away in 1997 and Julie continued to raise her children and work in real estate appraisal. In 2006, she met Dr. Charles Lawrence of Enid. They were married in 2008 and moved to Enid to make their home until the time of her passing.

Julie enjoyed many things through her life but none more than her Faith in God, family and close friends. She loved to travel, cook, spend weekends at Grand Lake, and enjoyed her time within the community and church. In recent years, her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren.
