A Celebration of Life for Joy Dene Boyer, age 87 years, of Drummond, is 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 8th at the funeral home. Cremation and service arrangements by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Joy was born to Veda and Ezra Gregory on July 24, 1933 in Ames, Oklahoma, and passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 in Enid.
Joy attended Ames Public Schools. After graduating high school, she moved to New York and went to work for American Airlines where she learned to operate the Telex machine. She moved back to Tulsa where she met her husband Gary L. Boyer on a double date. They married and of this marriage a daughter, Stephanie was born. She and Gary also adopted another daughter, Judy. Joy worked in the school lunchroom and for Seismograph Services Corporation until she retired, she then worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in the admissions office. Eventually she moved back to the home place where she enjoyed working in her yard.
Joy is preceded in death by her daughter Judy Hughes; and parents, Veda and Ezra Gregory. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Hladik; brother, Gary Gregory; one granddaughter, Candace Seek; and three great-grandchildren, Brentlyn, Jaelynn, and Aubryn Seek.
Memorial contributions in Joy’s name may be made to Humanity Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
