The memorial service for Joy Beth Marler, 81-year-old Enid resident will be Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2: 00p.m in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Gail Edmison will be officiating.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
Joy was born November 10, 1941, in Enid to Willis and Ruby (Grant) Moxley and died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1959. She then attended Oklahoma State University.
On January 2, 1964, she married W. Conrad Marler. The couple made their home in Enid. She worked downtown with ONG for several years. After raising their children, she returned to work as a mental health worker in the children's unit at Meadowlake Hospital.
She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church; member of Junior Welfare and sat on the board of the YWCA. Joy loved tennis. Both as a player and as a spectator. She logged thousands and thousands of hours as the quintessential tennis mom.
She was passionate about cooking always trying new recipes. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Conrad of the home, daughter Jill Marler of Oklahoma City and Jason Marler and wife Helene of Philadelphia, PA. Three grandchildren; Ryan, Owen, and Lila, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved Golden Retriever "Rowdy".
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Patrick, twin sister Joyce, and brother Bill Moxley.
