Joshua Allen McReynolds

January 23, 1979 - February 26, 2023

Joshua Allen McReynolds was born on January 23, 1979, in Kingman, Kansas to Rick and Darla (Stowers) McReynolds. Josh was unexpectedly taken from us on February 26, 2023, at the age of 44.

There will be a public viewing of Joshua McReynolds Thursday, March 2, 6-8pm at Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek Oklahoma. The funeral will be on Friday, March 3rd at Oakwood Christian Church Enid Oklahoma at 3pm.

Josh grew up in Pond Creek, Oklahoma with his parents, John and Darla Pendergraft. Josh attended Pond Creek-Hunter School where he played Basketball, Baseball, Football and Track & Field. Josh excelled in all sports but throwing shotput and discus was his passion. Josh was the Oklahoma state champion Shotput thrower his sophomore year, earning All State status. He was active in 4H, showing pigs when young and continuing in the club becoming Grant County Vice-President, and earning Jr. Key and Senior Hall-of-Fame awards. Josh was selected to play football in the Australia Down Under Bowl, as a participant in the American Legion Boys State and was an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Cadet Lawman. Josh graduated with honors from Pond Creek-Hunter with the class of 1998.

When Josh was in high school, he became a member of the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma. Josh was an active member at the Pond Creek Masonic Lodge at the time of his death.

Josh attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. He was active in the Student Council and was a proctor in Bush-Duvall Hall. While at NOC, Josh made many friends including his future wife, Bonnie Arnold. He made memories at NOC that truly lasted a lifetime.

Josh attended Oklahoma State University after graduating from NOC and earned a Bachelors of Science in General Business.

Josh and Bonnie were married on December 14, 2002, at the First Baptist Church of Pond Creek. They resided in Stillwater until their OSU graduation in May of 2005.

Josh and Bonnie moved to Wichita, Kansas in the summer of 2005. While there, Josh worked at the Sedgwick County Appraisers Office. While in Wichita, Josh and Bonnie welcomed their first child Reagan Jean in 2006. Reagan was the apple of her daddy’s eye, keeping him on his toes as early as she could crawl.

In September 2009, Josh and Bonnie returned to Pond Creek where Josh began working for the District Attorney’s office in Garfield County. The second day of work, daughter Kennedy Vonn was born causing a slight delay in his new job orientation. Kennedy was born with her daddy’s eyes and mischievous smile and was her daddy’s little girl. In 2010, Josh and Bonnie were stunned to find out they were expecting a little boy. Levi Joshua was born in November to his very proud parents. Levi has his daddy’s tendency to “modify” everything he touches and loves GI Joes, 4-wheelers and video games like his daddy.

What started as a job with the District Attorney’s office quickly became a calling in Josh’s life. Josh believed in second chances and choosing a better path in life. That was his goal for everyone he worked with in the probation office. Josh’s goal was to help those who made mistakes see the opportunity for a new beginning and a better life. There were many times that Josh and Bonnie were approached in public by someone thanking Josh for making a difference in their life.

Josh is survived by his wife, Bonnie and their children, Reagan, Kennedy and Levi of Pond Creek; his parents John and Darla Pendergraft of Pond Creek; sister Kira (Stuart) and nieces Natalie, Ariana and Delaney of Wichita; sister Sara Arnold and nieces Emilie and Macy Jo of Enid; brother Levi Arnold of Stillwater; sister Maggie McReynolds of Wichita; sister Milissa (Heath) and nieces Brooklynn and Emberlynn of Hutchison; brother Joshua Sikes; Grandparents Jim and Jeanetta Stowers of Pond Creek, Uncle Monty Stowers of Pond Creek, Cousin Lindsey (Lamar) and daughter Linley of Enid; Grandmother Edith McReynolds of Castleton, Kansas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
