The services celebrating and honoring the life of Jose Lopez, 69, of Bison, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday July 7, 2023 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Jose was born February 4, 1954, to Protacio Lucas and Juana Lopez-Martinez in Zimapan Hildago, Mexico and passed from this life June 28, 2023 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Mexico until the age of fourteen when he moved to Texas then later to Bison, Oklahoma. He married Carol Beauchamp June 16, 1979 and from this union came four children. He worked in the oil field all of his life in all positions, from rig operator to floor hand, until he was medically unable in 2022.
He enjoyed being outside, gardening, his pets, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Carol Lopez, of the home, daughters, Cristina Ramirez and husband Israel, of Cleo Springs, Cathina Schroder and husband Neal, of Okeene, Alisha Truttmann and husband Jason, of Enid, and son Daniel Lucas, and wife Cyndi, of Collinsville, seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Felicitas, Frank, Catalina, Leo, Javier and Louisa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Protacio Lucas and Juana Lopez Martinez, siblings, Eladio, Felix, and Eufrosino; and one granddaughter, Sofia.
