Johnny Rains

June 17, 1965 - June 13, 2021

The Funeral Services Celebrating and Honoring the life of Johnny Rains, 55, of Enid, formerly of Hennessey, will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday June 21, 2021, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be livestreamed on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook Page. Burial will follow in the Banner Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Johnny was born June 17, 1965, to Johnny Rains and Florene “Kelly” (Anderson) Rains in Hennessey, Oklahoma and passed from this life June 13, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

Johnny was raised and educated in Hennessey, graduating with the class of 1983. He enlisted in the United States Army and then attended Edmond College. He began working at a young age mowing lawns and learned a valuable lesson in work ethic while working at Murphy Seed Co. Upon his return form the Army he began working in carpentry and then for his father’s business, Rains Trucking company. He later worked in the oilfield until he became medically disabled due to an oilfield accident. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at casinos, working on his truck and loved his Pitbull, George. He was an avid OU, Dallas Cowboys, and Thunder fan.

He is survived by four daughters, Megan Turner, April Rains, and Summer Rains, and Stormy Rains, of Enid; bonus daughter, Karma Shutler, of Enid; his father Johnny Rains, of Hennessey; two sisters, Teresa Rains, of Waukomis and Malinda Tuell, of Hennessey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Kelly Rains.
