A Mass of Christian Burial for John W. Hanan, age 63, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Enid, Oklahoma, with Father Mark Mason celebrating John’s life. A Rosary will be from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 19th at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Val Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
John was born April 21, 1958 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Joe and Julia (Watkins) Hanan, and passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He graduated in 1976 from Rocky Mountain High School, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in September, 1981 and served for 12 years until he was honorably discharged in 1993 with the rank of Sgt. He married Letecia Lustado on June 12, 1987 in Ft. Collins. He adopted Letecia’s three children and raised them as his own. In 1994, he relocated his family to Enid where he worked for ACT Trucking, retiring in 2019.
He and Letecia were long-time members of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, where he was an active parish member. He was also a member of the local DAV Chapter in Enid. John was an avid music lover and played piano; loved to read books; and enjoyed photography. After surviving cancer in 2019, he discovered a love for cooking, where he tested new recipes on his family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Letecia, of the home Enid; three children, Leonora Delgado, of Enid; Rosaline Delgado, of Edmond; Alfredo Lustado, of Enid; four grandchildren, Alaina West, of Oklahoma City; Xavior West, of Edmond; Octavion West, of Edmond; and Dion Jackson of Enid. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Julia Hanan; a sister, Louise Hanan and brother Earnest Hanan.
Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
