A Memorial Service for John Lowell Proctor, age 75, of Enid, will be at 11:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2016, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
John was born to Norwood and Geneive (Witter) Proctor on September 7, 1940, in Carmi, Illinois, and passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at his home in Enid.
John grew up in Carmi. He graduated from Park University and then graduated from Tulsa University Law School. John had a law practice in Medford from 1966 to 1984, when he moved to Enid. He was Assistant District Attorny in Grant and Garfield Counties for many years. On December 29, 2005, John married Janet Battin. He enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
John was preceded in death by his wife Janet, and his parents.
He is survived by his children: Teresa Ankersen of Walnut Creek, California, Rod (Doris) Proctor of Lake Dallas, Texas, Becky Honeyman of Wichita, Kansas, and Eric (Susan) Proctor of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Bill (Nancy) Proctor of Carmi, Illinois; and sister Woodra Hamilton of Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
