John Dee Foster

John Dee Foster, age 75, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Enid. John’s wishes were to be cremated, with no services at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

John was born August 18, 1948 in Enid, to John and Ella (Hill) Foster. Two of the most significant moments in John's life was serving in the Marine Corps from December 1967- December 1970, and when he married his love, Betty Weidner on August 20, 1971, in Enid, OK. He served two tours in Vietnam and received several awards for his service, including the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, and National Defense Combat Gold Star. His dedication and bravery were evident in his receipt of the Vietnam Combat and Vietnam Gallantry Cross, as well as the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

John enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, or riding motorcycles with friends. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to the East Coast to see the ocean and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Alexandria Miner; two brothers, Albert and Eddie Earl Foster; two sisters, ViaLettia and Wanda Aker; and two nephews, Ryon Weidner, and Frankie Jo Weidner and a niece; Tina Carris.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home in Enid; two daughters, Rebecca Willson and husband Ronnie, of Enid; Jennifer Redding and husband Josh, of Enid; and bonus daughter; Jacie Funkhouser; five grandchildren, Nathanel Miner, Gavin McGrath, Carter Redding, Kinlea Redding, all of Enid, and Bryce Aker, of Granby, Missouri. Four siblings also survive John; Opal Mitchell and husband Ken, of Talking Rock, Georgia; Kay Ferraro and husband Danny, Chrisfield, Maryland; Diane Barry, Lamont, Oklahoma; and Butch “Dwayne” Foster and wife Debbie, of Enid. Dwayne Siegmann, a long-time friend, and someone John considered his ‘brother’ also survives him, as well as numerous other cousins, family, and friends.
