John “Danny” Daniel Parks

October 27, 1947 - August 23, 2023

A Celebration of Life through a grave site memorial for John “Danny” Daniel Parks, age 75, of Enid, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Brad Mendenhall will be officiating the service under the direction of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors. A family visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. John was born in Okeene, Oklahoma on October 27, 1947, to Walter S. Parks and Ida E. (Ging) Parks and he passed away on August 23, 2023, surrounded by his family. He grew up in the Okeene Community where he attended grade school then the Enid Community where he attended middle school at Emerson Junior High.

​John married Marilyn (Umbarger) Parks Burford on July 9, 1966 out of this union they had two children, Lisa (Parks) Steichen and Jeff Steichen, of Drummond, and Jason and Sherri Parks, of Waukomis. He was the youngest of ten children and the last surviving child. He is survived by his children, several nieces and nephews, and 10 grandchildren: Josh Armour(Shyanne Howard), of Drummond; Zach Steichen (Laura Mendel), of Fruita, CO; Tristan and Tim Winkler, of Enid; Jacob Steichen, of Grand Junction, CO; Seth Parks (Alivia Sullivan), of Enid; Destiny and Austin Hood, of Waukomis; and Kaylee Parks (Marcos Jimenez), of Waukomis.

​John worked at the Boys Market with his brother Eugene as a teenager. He joined the U.S. Army in 1966, serving four years active and two years in the U.S. Army National Guard. Following his military service, he worked at Frisco Railroad then BNSF until retirement. He was a member of World Harvest Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, hunting, square dancing, spending time with his dogs and family.

​John was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters, and several nephews. Honor with a donation in memory of John through the Enid SPCA.
