Funeral services for Joe Henry Peat, 84, Garber resident, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Committal prayers will be held in Paradise Cemetery, Breckenridge, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Joe was born on March 5, 1935 in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Charlie and Carrie Henneke Peat, and passed away peacefully on September 30, 2019 in Enid. He graduated from Enid High School, then attended OSU for Mechanical Engineering. Joe was a Captain in the United States Air Force. Joe met Patsy Honnegar after the Air Force and they were married in Tahlequah, OK in 1962. They had two children, Debbie and Mike. Joe retired from BHP and also farmed and retired on the farm. Two of his passions were his grandchildren and his cattle.

Joe was preceded in passing by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Earl Peat.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Steve) Norwood of Oklahoma City; son, Mike ( LeEllen) Peat of Hunter, OK; six grandchildren, Shane and Sadie Norwood, Michelle Jones, Luke Peat, Ashley Gibson, and Britani Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd, Bruce, Bud; and one sister, Nancy.
