Graveside service for Joan Ela Edith Ingmire, age 93, of Enid will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Dr. Jarrett Banks officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Joan was born January 20, 1923, in England to John and Alice (Reed) Cater, and passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016, in Enid.
Joan grew up and attended school in England. On May 5, 1945, she married Glen Ingmire in Felixstowe, England. After the war, they moved to the United States where she became a citizen, and they lived on the farm near Billings. Joan was a stay at home mom and a hairdresser. In the early 1980’s they moved to Enid. She enjoyed square dancing, loved to knit, and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital for several years. Joan is a member of Central Christian Church, where she was a member of the Sooner Sunday School Class.
Joan is survived by her daughter Jana Davis and husband Jimmy of Enid; 2 grandsons, Jance Davis of Enid, and Jameson Davis and wife Summer of Bethany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sisters, Vera, Edna, and Marion; and a granddaughter, Desiree Joy Davis.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or SPCA.
