Jo Ann Touchstone, 88, formerly of Enid, Oklahoma passed away in Abilene, Thursday, January 27, 2017. A funeral service will be held Wednesday Feb 1, at 1:00 PM at Owen K. Garriott Rd. Church of Christ, Enid, Oklahoma, with Ray Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
The family will receive Abilene friends from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 29, 2017 in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.
Jo Ann was born September 17, 1928 in Covington, Oklahoma to Jesse and Sadie (Weber) DeBoard. She attended college and worked for Messer-Bowers Insurance for several years and also worked for the American Red Cross during World War II and the Korean War. On December 22, 1956 she married Jacob M. “Jack” Touchstone and the couple moved to Enid from Bryan, Texas.
She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the War of 1812 and was a founding member of the Garfield County Genealogy Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert and Norman, and sister Geraldine. She is survived by one sister; Virginia Braley, three sons, seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Abilene Christian Schools with the Funeral Home acting as custodians of the fund.
