Funeral services for Jill Priest, 53 of Cashion, will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Maloney officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Jill was born December 4, 1970 in Enid to James and Avis (Isbell) Gragg and died on February 29, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

She grew up in Waukomis and graduated from Waukomis High School in 1989. Jill then went to University of Central Oklahoma and graduated with a B.A. in Dance Education. She completed her Master of Fine Arts from Texas Woman’s University in 2000.

On June 12, 1992, she married the love of her life, Michael Priest in Waukomis. Jill opened a dance studio, Dance Works of Enid to share her passion for dance with the community she loved. Jill also taught dance at Northeastern State University for several years before joining the faculty at University of Central Oklahoma in 2006, where she remained until her passing. Jill and Mike made their most recent home in Cashion, where she has lived for the last 9 years.

Jill always held a passion for dance. She began classes at the age of 5. Whether on stage or two-steppin’ with her Dad, dance brought her joy. Jill was full of life and love that she shared with everyone around her. Her family was her ultimate joy and she cherished her children. Her favorite times were watching her children grow and flourish. She enjoyed travel and shared that love with her husband Michael and their children.

She was preceded in death by her father, James. She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Quinlan, (fiancé, Emily Kaihlanen), Grady and Margo Priest; mother, Avis Gragg; sister and husband, Jo Lynn and Doyle Elder; brother and wife, Tod and Amy Gragg; nieces, nephews and many friends.
