Jet Fire Department has utilized funds available through Alfalfa County to update equipment the last few years. “We put two new trucks into service in just over 3 months,” said Jason Jenlink, Jet Fire Department Chief.
-
Jenlink said one truck is a new rescue truck to replace an aging ambulance with mechanical problems that was utilized for medical runs. The second truck is a new class 9 rural structure fire truck to relieve the duties of a 44 year-old truck that served the department well but lacked the capabilities of the newer equipment.
-
“The class 9 truck is a forestry truck that was customized to meet our needs,” said Colton Castle, Jet Fire Department Assistant Chief. “It will be an excellent truck on structure and brush fires.”
-
“We have been cautious to be good stewards of the tax payers’ dollars,” said Jenlink. “The equipment and gear we have updated will help us serve the community better while being more safe.”
-
The new equipment will be available for everyone to see at the benefit supper May 9 from 5:00 to 8:oo p.m.
-
Volunteers on the fire department are Jason Jenlink, Chief, Colton Castle, Assistant Chief, Glen Hensley, Training Officer, Troy Campbell, Safety Officer, Sandra Price, Secretary, Adrian Carson, Steve Carson, Jeff Flanagan, Kim Humphrey, Jeff Jenlink, Ernie Price, Logan Reinhart, and Chris Tucker.
