The funeral service for Jessie J. Simpson, 69 year-old Enid resident, will be 2:00PM Monday, December 21, 2015 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Ron Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid cemetery.
Jessie was born April 21, 1946 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Edward and Martha (Fowler) Simpson and died Friday, December 18, 2015 in his home in Enid. After schooling, he began farming and ranching with his father. He broke horses as a young man in Belvadere, Kansas on the Anchor D Ranch.
On July 11, 1968 he married Carmen Carroll in Moreland, Oklahoma where the couple made their home. They couple moved to Oklahoma City in the late seventies where he worked for Atlas Rock-Bit as a security guard. He later went to work for Hamm-Phillips in 1981 as a truck-driver, where he remained for 22 years until ill health forced him to retire in 2002.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows. He and his wife enjoyed square-dancing. He also like to fish and duck hunt with his brother.
He is survived by two sons, Edward J. Simpson and wife, Sandra of McAllister; Jessie H. Simpson and wife, Denise of Perry; daughter, Martha Simpson of the home; five grandchildren, Robert Cortez; Zachary L.E. Simpson; Christopher J.P. Simpson; Michael Simpson; Kaitlyn Simpson; four great-grandchildren, Braxton; Nicholas; Natley; Brayden; two brothers, Jeff and Jerry Simpson; two sisters, Linda Ellis and Helen (Love) Simpson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carmen.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF(Diabetes Division).
