Jay Dee Stephenson, age 73, passed away at home on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016.
He was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Ponca City the son of Almos “Buck” and Blanch
Stephenson. He was the youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by
his parents, one brother, one sister and one daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vickie Simmons Stephenson; one
brother, Edward Stephenson, of Yamhill, Ore.; two sons, Mark Stephenson,
of Stafford, Va. and Chris Stephenson, of Ponca City; one daughter, Deidre
Dodds, of Ponca City; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a
host of nieces and nephews.
Jay Dee was a life long auto mechanic in Ponca City. He served as a
firefighter at Ranch Drive Fire Department and he served 10 years in the
National Guard. He loved spending time with family and playing cards.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Ranch
Drive Baptist Church.
