The funeral for James "Jim” Hill, 78 year-old Cleo Springs resident, is 2:00PM Friday, June 24, 2022 in Emmanuel. Reverend Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Square Cedar Cemetery near Cleo Springs under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Jim was born June 2, 1944 in Enid to Neville and Mary (Moore) Hill and died Saturday, June 18, 2022 in his home. He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the Class of 1962. He then attended Phillip’s University where he obtained his BA and Master’s in Education and Administration. Jim was a life-long rodeo cowboy and stuntman, even appearing in the movie Junior Bonner. On his 30th birthday , he jumped out of a sky-scraper in the morning and a plane that evening.
On June 16th, 1979 he married Diane Singer in Enid. To this union a son, James, was born. Jim began teaching in the public high schools and college level in History and English. He was a long-time member of Emmanuel. A member of the Masons, where he was a former Master, and a Gold Card Member of the PRCA. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed leather working and was a master at it.
He is survived by his son, James “J.D.” Hill and wife Michaela of Cleo, one granddaughter Melody, sister Judy Scott and husband Jayme of Ringling, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Jerry.
