The funeral for James “Red” Pfrehm, 71 year-old Enid resident will be 11:00AM Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Racer will officiate. A private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation with family is 5PM-7PM Wednesday evening in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Born Lloyd Dale Holt on May 14, 1946 to Lloyd E. and Hilda (Maxey) Holt in Enid. He was later adopted by Verl F. and Lucy (Peninger) Pfrehm and his name was changed to James Verl Pfrehm. He preferred to be called Red. Red attended Enid schools until his senior year when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1964 and went back to Enid High School and graduated with the class of 1965. He then graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M as a Certified Heli-Arc Welder. He opened Pfrehm’s Quality Muffler Center in 1984 and worked until ill health forced his retirement.

Red was a member of Pleasant Vale Community Church, volunteered at Toys4Tots, served with the Enid Civitan Club and was a member of the American Legion. Red will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of footbal ,racing, music, and his family. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren in any activity they were in.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky, of 47 years, two sons: Sonny Pfrehm and wife Lori and Mac Pfrehm; 8 grandchildren (and one in heaven), and two great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Robinson of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Ruth Evans of Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to either Pleasant Vale Community Church or Hospice Circle of Love with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodians of the fund.
