Born December 5, 1933, Richard went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2021, after a long battle with chronic congestive heart failure and COPD.
A memorial service will be held at Evangel Assembly of God Church on May 20, 2021 at 10:00 am, where Richard attended for many years by Pastor Lester Lowry. Arrangements conducted by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Richard was born to James A. and Mildred (Grove) Crusinbery at home in southern Woods County, Oklahoma on December 5, 1933. He attended one room school houses through the 8th grade and graduated from Waynoka High School in 1952. He went to work for Atchison, Topeka & Sante Fe Railroad as a carman apprentice. Later he moved to Wichita, Kansas, going to work for the Coleman Company as a draftsman. He worked in the Wichita area for the next 35 years. In 1957, he married Norma Duncan. Four children were born in this 30 year union, Kenneth, Cheryl, Steve and Lisa. Richard was drafted by the U.S. Army in September 1957, where he served two years active duty, three years active reserve and was Honorably discharged as a Personnel Sergeant. In 1963, he went to night school to learn data processing. Later worked for two of the largest banks in Kansas. In 1989, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri and married Carol Miller in 1991. Carol, having Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma passed away in June 2001. He married Ann Benkendorf in October 2005, who resides in the home.
Richard was also preceded in death by his parents and a great grandchild.
Survived family includes, wife Ann of 15 years; children, Kenneth (Sheila) Crusinbery of Derby, Kansas, Cheryl (Dan) Bergerson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Steven (Tami) Crusinbery, Lisa (Steve) Huntley, all of Goddard, Kansas, and Alan Crusinbery; step-son, Carl (Joyce) Benkendorf, Waukomis; stepdaughter, Debbie (Marvin) Henricks, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Oklahoma Disabled Veterans or Salvation Army.
