James “Jim” William Hannon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and teacher, passed away on August 18, 2023, at his home in Holly Lake Ranch.
Jim was born on March 30, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up in Enid, Oklahoma with his parents Jim and Glenda Hannon.
Jim worked as an accountant for several businesses prior to becoming a devoted educator. He spent over 25 years shaping young minds as a high school teacher, retiring from Rowlett High School in 2019. During his teaching career he also coached high school baseball.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Jim was a man of many interests and hobbies. He loved to fish and golf, and was a loyal fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. In addition to his love for sports, Jim had a creative side. He was a talented musician who played the guitar and sang in a local Dallas band. He had a passion for music and his favorite band was The Beatles. Jim had an immense love for his family, including his dogs Maggie, Abby and Gidget. He was a big history buff and loved to go visit battlefields all over the country.
In 2019, Jim married Angela Muscato in Quitman TX.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Hannon.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angela Hannon of Holly Lake Ranch; two children, John Wesley Hannon and wife Kris of Carrolton, TX, and Sarah Elizabeth Tedesco, husband Mike, and grandson Michael Mario Tedesco of Leonard, TX; Mother; Glenda Hannon and Grandmother Francis Trekell of Enid, OK; sister, Jamie Gauld and husband Dave of Colorado Springs; and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas North Park – 10350 N. Central Expy, Dallas, TX 75231 on Saturday, August 26th 2023 at 3:00pm, followed by a get together at The Londoner Pub – 5321 E. Mockingbird Ln, Unit 250, Dallas, TX 75026.

Jim had the opportunity to go on a mission trip with the founder of Global Advance, Dr. David Shibley to Brazil, and has been a supporter of this organization for most of his life.
