James Glenn Brooks

November 15, 1932 - March 13, 2023

James Glenn Brooks was born on November 15, 1932, in Douglas, Oklahoma, to Glenn Arthur and Edna Mae Brooks and died on Monday, March 13, 2023, at home in Enid, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1950 and attended OSU, John Brown University and Phillips University. He was a graduate of the American Management Association. On March 31, 1952, he married Lois Ann Leighty in Enid. Brooks farmed for many years. He was station manager for Central Airlines at Woodring Field, Enid. He was president of the Federal Land Bank Association, Enid, for twenty-four years. He served as village director for Golden Oaks Village, Enid. He was also a Broker-Associate for thirty years with Andrew Real Estate, Enid. He taught Sunday school, served as a deacon and was active with First Baptist Church, Enid.

A member of Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Oklahoma Farmers Union and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers he served as president of 9th District Federation of FLBA. Brooks served on the board of directors for Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma Baptist Health Care Corporation and the Oklahoma Blood Institute. He was a commercial pilot, avid tennis player, rock collector and enjoyed many outdoor activities.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann; one daughter, Suzanne Lewis of Enid; one son, James David Brooks, of Cotopaxi, Colorado; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Brooks will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 4th, at the First Baptist Church of Enid, Oklahoma.
