James was born on March 13, 1971 in Enid, Oklahoma to Terry and Dayna Baker. He was called up to heaven very unexpectedly on the morning of February 25, 2024 at his home in Waukomis.
James was a very loving and dedicated Father to his son Alex. He was a compassionate and loving Son, Brother, Uncle and a Friend to many. His passing comes as very heartbreaking and unexpected loss for his family and the
countless number of individuals whose lives he had touched. James knew no strangers, his heart was so full of genuine love because through his eyes everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him was his Brother or Sister in Christ. James's dedication to his faith and his love for watching his son play sports brought him down the path to Waukomis Schools, where he lead the FCA. If you knew him you know with every departure, with a warm smile he would tell you that he loved you and Jesus loves you. Though our hearts may be shattered, James would want us to look up with a smile because he is exactly where he has always wanted to be. In the arms of the Lord whom he dedicated his whole life to. Spreading the word of Jesus was more than a Sunday Morning service for him, he lived it every day of the week.
James is preceded in death by his father Terry Olen Baker, his Grandparents, Olen & Margaret Baker, Bob & Eva Lena Buller. Aunts Dixie Baker and Judy Coen, his Uncles Joe Coen & Bob Crites, Great Aunt Lydia Peppers and his cousins Melody Dunn, Sherri Crites, and Heath Crites & his Great-Nephew Harlow Sutherlin.
He is survived by his son Alex Baker, his mother Dayna Baker and his sister Teri Blitz, Starla & her husband Charlie Bass, their children Meagan Bateman & Jake Bass. Sister Robin & her husband Chad Sutherlin and their children Tyler Sutherlin, Allison Sutherlin, Austin Sutherlin, and Bailey Sutherlin. His Great Nieces Rosie & Maizy. His Uncle Ken and his wife Linda Baker, Uncle Melvin Stubbs, Aunt Carolyn & her husband Ron Kerley, Aunt Barbara Crites, and many loving cousins.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Dayna Baker (for Alex Baker college fund).
