James Earl Williams was born November 25, 1963, to Mildred Lee Hunter-Williams in Minter City, Mississippi, and was the baby boy of the family. James went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his home in Enid, OK on March 24, 2024. He accepted Christ at an early age. He loved the Lord and often quoted bible scriptures. James went to elementary school at T.Y. Fleming in Minter City, MS, and went to Summer Hill Junior High School in MS. James attended West Tallahatchie High School in Web, MS, to the 11th grade. In Enid, he went to Carver and he got his GED. James went to culinary school where he became a wonderful cook. He went on and achieved his CDL in truck driving at the age of 23. James loved driving trucks all over the world. James loved his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, basketball and playing pool. He drove trucks over 30 years.
James moved to Enid where he met the love of his life, his fiancé Lorene Richey, and their family. In this united family, James really loved his one and only grand-daughter, Jamiya and she also loved her papa. He loved his family back home in Mississippi, that’s all he talked about was his aunts and uncles whom he loved very dearly. He talked with them on the phone about memories. He also loved his nieces and nephews. James loved going back home to visit and to go fishing. He loved his crappie fish and the country life style.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Lee Hunter-Williams, and her sister, Alice Jean Jones. James leaves to mourn, Lorene Richey and family, brothers, Willie Lee Davis of TX, Frank Davis (Gretta) of TN, Barry Williams, two bonus sisters, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Celebration of life service for James Williams will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, in the Grayson Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Norris Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to help with expenses or to the Grayson Youth.
