The funeral for James Casteel, age 79, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2016, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Carl Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

James was born to Ralph and Etta (Miller) Casteel on November 5, 1936, in Marshall, and passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, in Enid.

James grew up in Marshall, graduating from high school there. He was a pipeline foreman at Champlin Refinery and later a counselor at Meadowlake Hospital. James married Barbara Imel on June 8, 1979, in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Garfield Masonic Lodge # 501 and Guthrie Scottish Rite. James enjoyed hunting, black powder muskets, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; four children: Steve and Malinda Casteel of Stillwater, Jackie and Max Scott of Independence, Kansas, Randy and Lori Imel of Plano, Texas, Brad and Tricia Imel of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren; brother Melvin and Sylvia Casteel of Farmington, New Mexico; and special nieces, Christine Nichols and Susan Bailey.

James was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers.
