The services celebrating the life of James Gardner, 65, longtime resident of Dover, will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Dover Christian Church with Pastor Fred Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Dover Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home in Enid.
James was born March 25, 1951, in El Reno, OK to Arthur Eugene and Ruth Alice Collins Gardner and died Friday, September 9, 2016 in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Dover High School in 1969. He married Kay Thompson on May 29, 1971 in Enid. He was employed at Farmers’ CO-OP in Kingfisher and later Farrar Construction in Dover. Many people were blessed by his computer and mechanical skills.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; one brother, Bill Gardner and wife Vera of Dover; six sisters, Betty Robinson and husband Steve of Manhattan, Kansas, Mary Starr of El Reno, Barbara Mastalka and husband Floyd of Kingfisher, Judy Sissney and husband Jim of Waukomis, Elaine Brown and husband J.C. of Madill, and Debbie Benson and husband Kenny of Dover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.E. and Ruth Gardner.
Memorial may be made to the Dover Christian Church or the Dover Volunteer Fire Department with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
