Services for Jack Richard Shockley, 93, Enid resident, will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm under the gazebo at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Tim Dorsch officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Silver Talon Honor Guard with Vance Air Force Base. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Jack was born on September 22, 1928 in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the son of Martin Shockley and Reola Neumeyer Shockley, and passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022 at his residence. He was raised in Carmen, graduating from Carmen High School with the class of 1946. Jack served in the United States Army during World War II. He attended Northwestern in Alva. He married Dorothy Ring. Together, they had one son. Jack worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, later working for Santa Fe Railroad as a relief operator agent. In 1956, Jack went to work for Champlin Oil. Jack married Hildegarde Jean Schwartz in Enid on November 21, 1956. Together they had two daughters. In 1980, Jack retired from Marice L. Brown Company of Kansas City. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, former member of the VFW, Barber Shop Quartet, and member of Meadowlake Golf Course Association.
Jack is survived by son, Kim Shockley of Enid; daughters, Kathryn Shockley of Dallas, Texas, Jacki Leigh Broaddus of Oakland, Arkansas; step-daughters, Dr. Linda Hyde of Conroe, Texas, and Debra Villano of Broomfield, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great greats.
Jack was preceded in passing by his parents and wife, Jean.
