Jack Leroy Bower

January 20, 1945 - January 1, 2021

Private Celebration of Life Service for Jack Bower, 75 of Enid, will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel.

Jack was born January 20, 1945 in Perry, Oklahoma to Albert and Notie (Blake) Bower and died January 1, 2021 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

He grew up in Perry, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri. Jack served in the U.S. Army. He married Linda Haskins and they had two sons. Jack later married Peggy Dunson in 1992 in Perry, Oklahoma and they made their home in Enid. From this marriage, Jack gained his daughter. He was a Master Cabinet Maker and worked as a carpenter for the Enid Public School. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and birdwatching.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerald and Joe.

Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Chris Bower and daughter in law Annette Bower, Jack Bower, and Chelsea Davis and fiancé Daniel Johnson; his two granddaughters Cassidy and Paityn Bower; three brothers, Don, Larry and Terry Bower; other relatives and friends.

Jack loved his family and was a great story teller and joke teller. Jack had the gift of making others laugh often. His quick wit and sense of humor were never lacking. Jack’s passion for fashion was in his shoes and he always picked out the best shoes for others. Jack was paying it forward before it was a popular notion and this was his character
