The funeral service for Irene Hill, age 93, will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Dan Barrick officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Irene was born to Pete and Lena (Jantz) Becker on April 30, 1923 near Goltry, and went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
Irene grew up in the Goltry area. On February 10, 1946, she married Charles Hill, and they made their home on the family farm in the Burlington area. Irene was a cook at Byron School and worked at the Kiowa, Kansas Hospital. They moved to Enid in 1973, where Irene worked as a communication clerk at Bass Hospital until her retirement. She liked working in the yard, her flowers, and was an excellent seamstress and cook. Irene was a long-time member of Enid First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her daughter Joy Vogt and husband Jim of Breckinridge; brother Eugene Becker and wife Wilda of Blaine, Washington; sister Martha Swanson of Enid; and many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Charles, brother Reuben Becker, and sister Dorothy Buckmaster.
